Can monthly-salaried managers and daily-wage workers coexist in one workspace?

Yes. Each employee has an individual employment type. Monthly staff get the standard Basic + HRA + Special structure; daily-wage workers have a daily-rate component that multiplies by actual days worked. Both flow through the same payroll run; the same statutory files (PF ECR, ESI return) cover both.

How is harvest bonus paid?

Harvest Bonus is a built-in ad-hoc Bonus Type (₹10,000 default). Create a Bonus Grant on each worker at season end; engine adds it to the payslip as a taxable earning. Reason field captures the season / crop reference; audit-logged.

Do agro-processing workers need ESI?

Yes, for workers earning ≤ ₹21,000 monthly gross. Most processing workers (plant operators, QA technicians, packers) fall under the ceiling. FastLegal flags every employee crossing or falling under it each cycle and computes 0.75% employee + 3.25% employer contribution.

What about minimum wage compliance?

Minimum wages are state-notified and revise periodically. FastLegal doesn't auto-enforce minimum wage today (the rate varies per state, per job category, per skill level — hundreds of combinations). The salary structure is admin-controlled. We're tracking state-wise minimum wage feeds; auto-enforcement is on the roadmap.
